I have been the organist at St John's Cathedral Salford since 2000. I would describe myself as first and foremost a liturgical organist and accompanist rather than a concert organist as I don't often play at recitals, but I have over 25 years experience of church music. I'm a competent improviser (I've had lessons in improvision by French organist Jean Wallet) and can read plainchant notation and sight read SATB scores. I currently play freelance as and when required, when not playing at the cathedral. I have also worked as an accompanist for several choral and amateur operatic societies. |
