I am 59 years old and have been playing the piano since I was 9. I began playing the organ when I was about 14 because I found myself in a situation where because it was known that I could play the piano I was also able to play for services. At this point I had not had any formal training on the organ. It was not until the 1980's that I began to play the organ seriously by taking some lessons from Christopher Rathbone at the excellent 4 manual organ at Marlborough College in Wiltshire. I have Organ passes at Grades 4 ,6 and 7 (Associated Board). I also have passes in Piano Grades 1 - 8 and Grades 1 - 5 Theory of Music both for Trinity College of Music London. I am currently Director of Music and Organist at Bath Road Methodist Church in Swindon Wiltshire. I direct a small choir there. I have a wide experience in accompanying sacred works, hymns and anthems in this church and at my previous appointments. I have also had some conducting experience and I am a former (Tenor) chorister of Swindon Parish Church. I am a freelance organist during the week available to play for Weddings/Funerals. I am prepared to travel a reasonable distance to any job. I would like to gain further musical experience in conducting and organ accompaniment.
